The iconic Dagwood Dogs, have been apart of the McDonald Family for well over 100 years.
Starting with my great grand father Bill McDonald, selling fairy floss in Newcastle NSW down by the beach with a kerosine machine. He was very well known in the area for his sweet treats.
My great grandparents Bill & his wife Mary then went onto sell Fresh cream Waffles, Toffee Apples, Fairy Floss & Dagwood Dogs in square tents at agricultural shows far & wide.
My Grandfather Bob McDonald married Jackie Holder who, also a young traveling show woman started up their own food tent, then onto food trailers. They travelled by the show train into North Qld, NSW and across the Nullarbor Plains & back again selling what they know best, the ever so popular "Traditional show food treats."
